December 2024 – At SwipeRx, we have partnered with pharmacy professional associations across 6 countries in Southeast Asia to deliver continuing professional development through technology. As part of our advocacy for the role of pharmacy professionals in public health, we are now bringing together associations from different countries to share best practices. On December 16th 2024, SwipeRx organized a meeting between senior leaders of the Pharmacy Council of Thailand and the Pharmacy Council of Cambodia to discuss country-to-country collaboration to:
📚 Learn from Thailand’s public sector reimbursement of community pharmacies serving clients with contraceptives, rapid HIV tests, hypertension and diabetes medication and antenatal supplements;
💊Learn from Thailand’s approval of community pharmacists to dispense medication for 32 common symptoms without doctor consultation;
🌏Increase representation and involvement of Pharmacy Council of Cambodia leaders in pharmacy-specific discussions at ASEAN and other regional forums
Our special thanks to Pharmacy Council of Thailand President Mr. Precha Panthivef as well as Dr. Suwit Therakulchon and Dr. Noppadon Ajjmathera for hosting this meeting, as well as His Excellency & Pharmacy Council of Cambodia President Mr. Ban Botta and senior PCC committee members for participating in the first meeting between these two professional councils during December 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.
